Little Black Book

who am I to say?

Slumped forward,
Weakened by disgrace,
I can’t bear these burdens
Without your embrace.

Under the weight of my title,
I stand erect in costume.
While my voice is idle,
My eyes are my spies.

A strong physique,
Vital to a favorable life,
I refuse to succumb to you
Glazing over me unhurriedly.
